Balarishta or Balarishtam

Balarishta is an ayurvedic syrup whose main ingredient is a potent ayurvedic herb called “Bala”. Other ingredients are “Ashwagandha”, “Gokhru”, “Cloves” and old “Jaggery”. These ayurvedic herbs gives strength to the muscles, bones and nerves.
Ayurveda has a category of syrup called “Aasav” and “Arista”. They are prepared after an ayurvedic process of fermentation in earthen pots away from light. This is the reason they also have self generated alcohol.

Its overall effect is cold to the body but unlike other cold herbs, it has a remedial effect on “Vatta” or gas trouble as well. Person who is losing weight because of “Vatta” imbalance or gas trouble should definitely take it. It also keeps a balance of “Vatta”, “Pitta” and “Kaffa”. Rishi “Charak” have mentioned it as “Balya” , “Pustivardhana” and “ Agnivardhana” which means it gives strength to the body and simultaneously it improves your digestive fire. It is also useful in arthritis, spondylosis and nervous issues.

What is right time and dose to take “Balarishtam”?
12 to 24 ml with equal amount of water after morning and evening meals. Can be taken three times as well.
Who can take it?
All ages.Children should only consume 5 to 10 ml. Good for elderly people irrespective of low or high B.P.

How to protect digestive system fire?
1.     Do not force yourself to eat when not hungry.
2.     Do not drink water or eat fruits when hungry.
3.     Do not suppress your hunger.
4.     Do not drink too much water or do not drink water when not thirsty.
5.     Do not drink water immediately after meals.
